Atlanta, Georgia- MDMA Plus Exposure Therapy for PTSD – Link to Register

Location: Atlanta, Georgia

Description: This study is exploring whether combining MDMA with Prolonged Exposure therapy can improve treatment for people living with PTSD. Participants will take part in a 10-day therapy program and receive one guided MDMA session during that time. The goal is to see if this approach can make healing from trauma more effective for those who haven’t found full relief from standard treatments.

New York City, New York- Dose Optimization of MDMA-Assisted Therapy for PTSD (DosOp) – Link to Study

Location: New York City, New York

Description: This study is testing how many MDMA-assisted therapy cycles work best for U.S. veterans with PTSD. Each cycle includes one guided MDMA session and three integration sessions, with participants completing up to five cycles based on their progress and comfort. The goal is to find the ideal amount of treatment needed for meaningful healing while tracking safety and biological markers of recovery.

New Haven, Connecticut- Psilocybin for Symptom-Related Impairment – Link to Register for the Study

Location: New Haven, Connecticut

Description: This study is testing the safety and practicality of using psilocybin therapy for people living with depression, anxiety, trauma, or addiction. It welcomes participants who often get left out of traditional research due to multiple mental health challenges. The goal is to see how safe and tolerable psilocybin treatment is for real people with real-world struggles.

Columbus, Ohio- Psilocybin: A Study for Veterans with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) – Link to Study

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Description: This study is testing psilocybin-assisted therapy as a new approach to help veterans with severe, treatment-resistant PTSD. Participants will take part in two guided psilocybin sessions combined with psychotherapy. The goal is to measure how safe and effective this treatment is compared to traditional options that often fall short for veterans.

Houston, Texas- State-Funded Trial Assessing Recovery and Long-Term Impact of Guided Psilocybin for Healing Trauma (STARLIGHT) – Link to Study

Location: Houston, Texas

Description: This study builds on previous research using psilocybin-assisted therapy to treat PTSD in U.S. veterans. Participants will take part in two guided psilocybin sessions combined with psychotherapy. The goal is to further understand how safe, tolerable, and effective this approach can be in helping veterans heal from trauma.

Seattle, Washington- Psilocybin clinical trial for Alcohol Use Disorder & PTSD: PsiloStudy – Link to Study

Location: Seattle, Washington

Description: This Washington State–funded study is testing psilocybin-assisted therapy for veterans and first responders living with both PTSD and alcohol use disorder. Led by Dr. Nathan Sackett at the University of Washington, the study will explore the safety and effectiveness of this combined approach, with participants receiving psilocybin treatment and ongoing psychological support over six months. The study began recruiting in February 2025.

Branford, CT- Breathwork Intervention for Veterans with Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS) – Link to Study

Location: Branford, CT

Description: Heroic Hearts Project, in partnership with Frequency Breathwork and Florida State University, is studying how cyclical breathwork can help veterans manage post-traumatic stress and improve overall well-being. The pilot program includes a guided in-person breathwork session, optional contrast therapy, and virtual follow-ups. Led by experts in trauma and mind-body medicine, the study aims to bring scientific evidence to the healing potential of breathwork for veterans.
